Stop Looking Back..!!!

I want to tell you a story about a guy and I will use “John” as his name. John is having some issues 

12 years ago John was the superstar athlete of his high school football team. I mean he was very good. He had it all going for him 

All his friends said, “you’re going to be a pro star.!!!”

John went straight to the pro ranks right out of high school, I mean he was the best of the best 

John made the pro sports and within the first few weeks of practice John broke his leg. I mean broke it so bad it ended his career. He was cut from the team and he never made it back 

Now 12 years later John is wearing his high school letter jacket To the neighborhood restaurants trying to find his high school friends 

His wife says, “my husband just lays around and he won’t do anything at all.”

John is spending too much time looking back at his past trying to rehearse it, nurse it and curse it 

But he hasn’t tried to reverse it 

You know why so many people are unhappy and get in a slump?

Because they keep looking back at the past 

Your main obstacle may not be what’s in front of you but may be what’s behind you 

You are destined to win. You have the power in you to overcome your past because you have a bright future in front of you 

The number one disease in America is Depression..!!

So many people are depressed, they are down and over 80% of America suffers from depression 

You know why???

Because they are focusing on their past..!!

Past failures

Past mistakes

Past short comings 

If you want to succeed in life you can’t look at your past 

So many people are looking back

My friend John can have everything but he’s still trying to succeed with some team 12 years ago in the past

YOU CANT LOOK BACK..!!!!

God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and told Lot and his family. DON’T LOOK BACK..!!!!

Lot and his family were walking to a new promise, a new beginning and all of a sudden lot’s wife LOOKED BACK and all of a sudden she turned into a pillar of salt 

Listen, she shouldn’t have looked back and neither should we look back 

Once you completely leave your past behind, God doesn’t want you to go back..!!

What right do we have to remember what God forgets??

When a caterpillar changes into a butterfly it change back into a caterpillar 

Metamorphosis means you completely change 

DON’T LOOK BACK..!!

Maybe you let down some people, maybe you let down yourself 

We all have let down people and we all have let down ourselves 

If we don’t look back it can become a stepping stone and not a stumbling block 

If God forgives and forgets then we should have to keep looking back 

Pride comes before the fall 

When you look back you will find excuses to not look forward 

God can take your stumbling blocks and turn them into stepping stones 

When you don’t forgive your past, you tie yourself to it 

Stop rehearsing it, nursing it, and cursing it. Reverse it and start looking forward to your future 

Don’t Look Back or you will be like Lot’s wife and you will never make it to what God has for you 

Stop focusing on the past because God has a brand new future for you if you don’t look back ..!!

We all make mistakes and we all go through tough times 

We all let people down 

We all let ourself down 

God’s forgiveness is fresh every morning 

Tomorrow is a new day. We don’t have to look back at yesterday again 

STOP LOOKING BACK 

What God has for you He doesn’t have for anybody else 

The people in your past are the very ones you are tied to and you need to get free of them. You’re carrying around that past that you need to cut loose 

You tie yourself to your past when you don’t forgive yourself or forgive others 

Nothing in your past has to to influence your future 

STOP LOOKING BACK..!!!!
