If I Could Dream

Genesis 37:

We live in a world close to 8 Billion people..

We live in a world of trouble and pain…

That doesn’t seem to zing some of you as I take a pulse reading, a brain scan, and the metabolism scale is “0” on many of you.

A lot of you are not shocked by this statement..

About ¼ of a million people are born every day

And our whole brotherhood makes up racially less than 1/7 of 1% of the world

There are enough people in here to change the world if we would allow God to work in us and through us so Gods Will can be done

It depends what kind of people we are

And how close we are to the purpose of God

Since there are no special board meetings at midnight or no secret ballot box to vote at

Isn’t it strange that we claim to believe the Bible but we don’t have time to hear what the Word of God says

It was in the providence of God that He came to us, not only visibly but audibly.

Sometimes it is hard to hear and it takes your whole being to hear

And if you have visibility, you just open your eyes.

I have 180-degree visibility

Some people have about a 2-degree span. It’s like blinders on

Some of them are driving and I see them driving

Only those that dream the dreams of God

Will ever do more than they ever dreamed possible

If we do not do anymore than our present brotherhood is doing

God will get a people that means business

He always has

And He always will

“Do you believe that God is at work?”

Does it look like God is at work in the Oval Room?

Or with the Harvard graduates that are ripping off the Nation?

10 million people in Central Africa will starve to death this year

That is 2 times more the total membership of the Restoration Heritage

They are doomed to starvation

Sometimes we say that we believe God is at work because our experience is so limited

We are committed the Creator, Redeemer, of the Universe

And this Universe is quite large

And only those that dream God dreams will ever be commenced by His grace to speak to a world that is growing so rapidly

Most people can get to the Post Office, to work, to the store, to Walmart and to bed

It goes on and on and on

Now the whole world is seeking an answer

We come to meetings like this and we say we have the answer

Do you believe that 2 Billion people have the slightest idea that we have the answer?

Now 2 Billion is more than lived in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois combined

Let’s begin reading at verse 1 and we are going to read some verses up to Chapter 45

And then pray and then preach till midnight

And the first to fall out of the pew, I will take them up alive

Now Jacob in the Hebrew means, “cheat, or deceiver.”

Joseph was 17 years old and was feeding the flock

God does not love 17, 18, 19 year olds any more than he loves 70, 80, 90 year olds

We live in a world right now where 3 out of every 4 are 21 years old and under in the whole world

In the United States, 1 out of every 2 is 25 years old and under

And they are the ones that are rebellious

Now you can’t get into too much trouble in a small mid western rural town attending sheep

Notice the home structure in verse 2

Dad is a cheat

Multiple mothers

And some of the weirdest brothers in the world

READ VERSES 3,4

What we are reading here is a 25 year span from what we are reading here to Chapter 45

Some of you may think it might take 25 years to read it

READ VERSES 5-8

“How do I hate thee, let me count the ways”

READ VERSES 9-11

Now verses 12-24 it shows Joseph hunting for his brothers

And his brothers are down at the Plains of Dothan

READ VERSES 18-20

Now these pits were 15-20 feet

So when a flash flood came, the waters would drain into these pits

It was a dry season, so Joseph would not drown

He would at least bounce when he hit the bottom

Notice that they hate him

There is jealousy

And now they are lying

READ VERSES 21-24

OF COURSE IF THE PIT IS EMPTY THERE WOULD BE NO WATER IN IT

READ VESRES 25-28

He was sold for the price of a slave

None of those people know that Joseph was involved in the purpose of God

He is the only one who knows

Chapter 38

Now years are passing

Now you know Judah and the purpose of Judah

And the tribes of Judah in the purpose of God?

READ VERSE 12

Now how is Judah going to have any male children?

No male children, no tribes

No tribes, no David

No David, no Jesus

No Jesus no redemption

Now notice all that is going on and God is at work

And most people are not aware of it

When Judah was comforted, it took him 1 ½ day

He went up to Timnath to the county fair

To the tractor pull, the rail split, the tobacco spit, to the barb wire stretchers group

He is a liberal because he took his friend Hirah the Adullamite with him

He is hanky panking up at the county fair

READ VERSES 27-30

Those who think that the genealogies in the Old Testament and in the New Testament are worthless

Look right in the middle of those genealogies and you will see Pharez

It is out of Pharez that David comes

Out of Pharez, Christ comes

Only those that dream the dreams of God are aware that God purpose will prevail

And all of life will never give way

Even at any given day or week or month

Chapter 39

You know of the Potiphar event

I wonder where Joseph got that conviction and that morality?

Did he get it from his father?

His mothers?

His brothers?

Between 40 –45

About 20 years pass

There is a famine up in the land

After all the events from 37-45

God is at work behind the scene

Chapter 45

Verse 1,2

He wept aloud

What is going on here?

READ VERSES 3,4

“I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS HOUR”

No!

Amazing grace how sweet the sound

Works only in the hearts of those that dream the dreams of God

READ VERSE 5

If that life is gone

Then the redemption of the universe is gone

Let the dream of the dreamer encourage, empower, and excite

Now is the time to take our dreams and make them a reality

Our dream should be the purpose of God

When we see and realize the purpose of God in our life then God will begin to work in our life

Our dream should be walking hand and hand together seeking the lost and to help them know about Christ

There should be love in our hearts for our fellow man regardless of color, race or sexual orientation

Christ died for all mankind

Let us all embrace the Cross
