A look at the fall of of Lucifer and how Gods plan for the redemption of man came to be

The Fall of Satan

When you ask people what is the “first” sin committed; they will tell you the story of Adam & Eve…

But notice in the Book of Genesis that it doesn’t open up about evil but about creation

Evil is already there, it’s the “Serpent” Lucifer, the fallen one

Lucifer questioned God. Lucifer let his “pride” get the best of him. Lucifer wanted to be “god”

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

God spoke the universe into existence.

Everything came into being

God not only created the physical world but created the spiritual world

God created the angels to serve Him and to praise Him. Some were His messengers

Lucifer who rebelled against God became Satan

Lucifer was created by God and he was very beautiful

1 Timothy 4:4 (NLT): Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.

Gods character is pure without any “darkness” or deceit

1 John 1:5 (NLT): This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Lucifer was created for the purpose of serving and honoring God

But what happened?

Where did Lucifer desire to sin come from?

Lucifer had free will. He took his eyes off God and began to look at himself and began to chose his will over Gods will

If we look at the “5 I Will’s” we can get an idea how pride began to come into this.

Isaiah 14:12–14 (NIV84): 12 How you have fallen from heaven,

O morning star, son of the dawn!

You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven;

I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,

on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.  14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

Satan’s sin came from within Himself.  He sinned because he was given free will and he chose to love himself more than God.

We have to understand that God is Sovereign and God has complete control over everything  that happens in this world and the spiritual world

There are things that happen in this world has a result of our actions

Even though things happen, God uses them for His purpose

Just because God allows something to happen DOESNT mean He condones it or supports it

Lucifer’s fall was a result of his own actions and rebellion against God but God used this to bring about His redemption plan for man

God took something bad and brought about something good from it

We don’t know when or where Lucifer’s first desire to sin originated from

The Bible is silent regarding this topic

Deuteronomy 29:29 (NLT): 29 “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.

Some things are still a mystery to us and God only knows

We may question God why certain things happen in our lives or in the world.

We need to understand that some things that God has kept as a mystery is ok.

God can have things that are secret because He’s God ..!!

His ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts

Isaiah 55:8–9 (NLT): 8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

There are things that God chooses to reveal to us and there are things He conceals from us

If God explained all the things in the Bible, it would be beyond our understanding

Lucifer was close to God and it’s sad that pride brought about his downfall.

Look at today society…

Pride month. All about themselves

Lucifer lost sight of love. Lucifer was so stuck on himself and his beauty

Luke 10:17–20 (NLT): 17 When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” 18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! 19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”

Christ reminds the 72 disciples to be cautious of pride

Pride is the sin that opens the door to all other sins

God removed Lucifer from Heaven because of his sin.

Sin cannot reign in the presence of God

When God removes you from His presence, you are removed completely

1 Timothy 3:6 (NLT): 6 A church leader must not be a new believer, because he might become proud, and the devil would cause him to fall.

Young leaders need to be very careful about being in a high position in church because they can fall just like Satan.

Arrogance can bring you down just like Satan

Lucifer will receive the highest penalty which is The Lake of Fire

Matthew 25:41 (NLT): 41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.

Ezekiel 28:17 (NLT): 17 Your heart was filled with pride

because of all your beauty.

Your wisdom was corrupted

by your love of splendor.

So I threw you to the ground

and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

God will not share His position or glory with anyone

Remember what the 10 Commandments said

You shall have no other gods before me..??

Lucifer tried to replace God but got replaced

With a rebellion came a change in personality and the Holiness Lucifer had is now replaced with corruption

So now Lucifer could not be like God

Isaiah 42:8 (NLT): 8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.

Isaiah 43:10 (NLT): 10 “But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord. “You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,

and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God—

there never has been, and there never will be.

Isaiah 45:5–6 (NLT): 5 I am the Lord; there is no other God.

I have equipped you for battle,

though you don’t even know me,

6 so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

There is no clear evidence has to when Lucifer fell

God saw that everything He made was very good and He validated it

The angels were present when God laid the foundation of the earth and set things in motion

Sometime after the original creation of Heaven and Earth, Lucifer fell

One day is a thousand years and a thousand years is one day

So Satan and his angels are fighting the spiritual battle and many are falling to the enemy

Christ came to bring man back into a relationship with God

It’s through Jesus that salvation is restored

The power of Jesus’ blood saves

Come to Christ. Know Him and have a deep relationship with Him
